Grandparents Day Continues

After celebrating grandparents in Tucson, we headed up to Phoenix to see another great grandparent, my Grandpa Gurney.

Grandparents Day

Yesterday, Booker's school had a Grandparents Day Celebration. Booker's great-grandma, Mama Ginger drove down from Mesa to attend. I'm grateful that my children have many opportunities to get to know their grandparents and even their great grandparents. Thanks for coming, Mama Ginger! Booker was so proud to show you off.

Since starting school, Booker has gotten pretty good with his sight words. This video is rather dull but it gives you a good idea of what our afternoons look like: Booker being goofy, Ike sticking his hands down his pants and Asher laughing at it all.

Also, I'm looking for book suggestions for Booker. So far we've read The Phantom Tollbooth, The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe, Mr. Popper's Penguins, Peter Pan, Matilda, The Twenty-One Balloons, The BFG, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach, Fantastic Mr. Fox and Stuart Little. Of those books, he really enjoyed Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Matilda and The BFG were a little above his level. What are your favorite books for a 5-6 year old?
