Friday Thanksgiving with the Proffitts

Our contribution- an insane amount of food. The menu: roasted turkey, fried turkey, two types of stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, Callie's famous sweet potatoes, pretzel jello salad, corn pudding, squash salad, spinach salad, three types of cranberry salad, homemade rolls, Jan's famous orange rolls, relish tray and I'm sure I'm forgetting something. For dessert: Joy's famous pumpkin pie, Mama G's pecan pie, BYU mint brownies, original pumpkin pie and ice cream. Everything was divine.

Thanksgiving dinner outside in the shade of the trees- with perfect weather.

The Garns/Dunyons seriously know how to throw a party. We had a bouncy slide AND a Dora bouncy castle, which made for a really fun obstacle course for all the grandkids. I wish I had a gotten a shot of the adults doing the wheelbarrow race though.

Booker, Dax and Trigg.

Booker, Brenley and Zephyr.

Baby cousins- Riley, Teichert and Abigail.

Once the sun went down, we cuddled up in blankets and watched Kung Fu Panda projected on the side of the house. Booker was welcomed on the big boy cousins blanket with Mitch, Connor and Seaver.

Later joined by Trigg.

Once everyone went inside, Booker and Addie stayed out to watch it again. He was freezing cold and slightly damp, but grinning from ear to ear. This kid LOVES spending time with his cousins. What an awesome Thanksgiving!

Duel in the Desert

I love the holiday season.  I get to dress up as a hot dog and drink mommy-processed Halloween Candy and Turkey  dinners.  It's delicious.  Plus, I get to hang out with my friend Tait for both Halloween AND Thanksgiving this year.  Tait's my best friend here in Tucson.  The problem is, he's a U of A fan.  What's that all about?

So why am I so happy?

I'll tell you why.  The ASU/UofA game is this week and Tait has realized the error of  his ways and is following his brother Caleb's path to the Lord's Arizona University.
That's right.  Eat your heart out.  Go Devils!

Reid Park Zoo & Sabino Canyon

We haven't left the house in two days, so I thought I'd post evidence of happier (and healthier) times from last week- a day at the zoo and a hike at Sabino Canyon. Here's to hoping we kick these colds soon and can get back to doing fun things.

Halloween 2008

For trick-or-treating, we decided to hit up the family friendly neighborhood of Marana with our buddies, the Matsons. Trick-or-treating was a great combination of candy and new faces for Booker- he loved it. He didn't love the spooked out houses but endured the scary decorations in order to get a piece of candy.

Our good natured little hotdog.

Its no chicken costume, but at least he wore the hat.

Rachel, Sarah, Ren and Booker

Baby buddies, Ike & Tait (1 week apart)

Ren as Indiana Jones

Chocolate face

Booker, looking for a place to stash his haul so mom and dad will stop picking at it. You might notice the spit up on Ike's costume. Ren thought that was pretty gross so we told him that Ike was a hot dog with mustard and a little bit of mayo.

A tractor/hay ride for the super serious trick-or-treaters.
